Since I have year 12 exams on as early as next week, most of my November so far has been spent frantically studying. Because of that, as well as the fact that I'll be interstate (again) for most of November, I still haven't decided for sure whether I'll even be doing NaNoWriMo this year.

I do have a wonderful idea to work with so I'm doing some research (during study breaks just in case), but it's still unclear at this point. Consequently, my progress bar looks like this:

I was having a shower and an idea for a drabble (or fanfic) popped into my head. Unfortunately the idea also came with a jump-rope rhyme, and I can't get rid of it. Until I have time to write that drabble, I'll leave it posted here. Unfortunately it doesn't feel finished, so we'll see what happens with it in the future.

"Oi, Sasuke! You home?"

The boy in question rolled his eyes and pushed his chair away from the table. He'd finally gotten into the book Kakashi had leant him, so of course the moron had to come and interrupt. Judging where his voice was coming from, he was climbing through the living room window already. Sighing, Sasuke stayed in his seat and tried to keep reading.

"Sasuke-bastard! I know you're there. You got any spare milk?"

"Milk?" Sasuke said incredulously, giving up on his book and raising an eyebrow at the blonde as he walked into the kitchen. "You came all the way from your house to mine to get milk?"

"Well, I've run out," said Naruto innocently.

"Buy some," said Sasuke frostily, and went back to his book. There was a long-suffering sigh, but the Uchiha refused to look up. This was his goddamn house; he'd do what he wanted.

"I can't afford to buy milk," Naruto eventually admitted. "Jiraiya 'borrowed' my money again."

Sasuke gave up, closing the book with an audible snap. "Fine, you can borrow some goddamn milk," he muttered, getting up and walking towards the fridge. "How much do you need?"

"Hm... About a bowlful, I'd think."

Naruto was breathing onto the back of his neck. Sasuke counted to ten in his head before turning around. "You're too close, idiot." His face was less than an inch away from Naruto's, as if to illustrate the point.

"Hey, hey, I just wanted to see what you're doing!" the blonde said quickly, scrambling backwards.

"I would have thought it was obvious," Sasuke said dryly. "I'm getting the milk you begged me for."

"I didn't beg," Naruto said, frowning.

"You walked all the way from your house to mine, climbed in through my window, and asked me twice to borrow some," Sasuke smirked. "That's close enough."

"Well screw you too, then," the blonde scowled. "I'll ask someone else for some."

"You idiot, you're already here. What's the point of-" But it was too late; Naruto had already left.

Sighing, Sasuke closed the fridge and left, locking his front door automatically behind him. There was no point going after him now; Naruto would be too busy visiting people, trying to get milk off of them without actually asking for it, and he didn't actually know where most of them lived.

Annoyed, the Uchiha started walking towards the main shopping area of Konoha to buy a carton of milk for Naruto. Maybe the idiot would even accept it when he gave it to him.

From the shopping district, a short walk and a flight of stairs left him outside of Naruto's apartment. Sasuke hesitated for a second before knocking. There was no answer, and after a few minutes the Uchiha concluded that his teammate hadn't returned yet. Annoyed, he drew a senbon and picked the lock. What was the point of having locks when you lived in a ninja village, anyway?

It was surprisingly clean inside. Sasuke ran a finger along the floor just to certain, but wasn't left with any dust. Shaking his head in amazement, he walked down the hallway towards where he assumed the kitchen would be.

Naruto slammed into his own house twenty-two minutes later without any milk. Sasuke, who'd been waiting impatiently in the living room, stood up and grabbed the blonde as he stomped down the hallway.

"Oi!" Naruto exclaimed as Sasuke gripped his jacket and pulled him towards the kitchen. "What are you doing in my house?"

"Nothing," Sasuke muttered, pushing him through the doorway of the kitchen. "Now have some tea before it gets cold."

"...sorry?" Naruto blinked.

"Tea. Comes in cups, usually. Smells leafy."

"I know what tea is. Why are you making it for me?" Naruto sounded suspicious as he picked up a cup and sniffed it.

"Because you left without your milk, that's why," Sasuke said, sullen. He avoided the blonde's eyes and picked up his own less-than-steaming cup.

"I appreciate this, Sasuke," said Naruto slowly, "but I don't suppose you brought that milk with you?"

"No, I brought a new one. It's in the fridge." Naruto's bright smile made Sasuke want to smile himself, so he hid it by taking a sip of the tea.

He almost dropped the cup in shock and horror when Naruto took the milk out of the fridge, opened it too enthusiastically (spilling milk on the floor) and poured some into the tea that Sasuke had tried so hard to make perfect. "What the hell are you doing?!" he spluttered.

"I can't have tea without milk. And sugar, too; do you want some?"

"That's disgusting!"

"I'll take that as a no," Naruto grinned, spooning six spoonfuls into the now-white tea.

Sasuke drained his tea in one gulp, threw the cup at Naruto, and stormed off down the hallway.

Curiosity piqued, the last respectable remaining member of the Uchiha clan walked towards the alley the two boys were hiding in.

"You shouldn't have gotten drunk -- you're still underage, anyway! -- and now everyone knows!"

"That's not the point! Everyone else knows!"

"Ow!"

"Knows what?" Sasuke asked as he rounded the corner. Naruto was gripping the front of Kiba's shirt tightly, and jumped guiltily as he noticed his team-mate.

"Nothing, it's nothing..." the blonde said quickly.

"You're a bad liar," Sasuke murmured disapprovingly.

"You might as well tell him now," Kiba said hesitantly. "He'll find out soon enough anyway."

"Find out what?" Sasuke frowned, leaning against the wall and folding his arms. Naruto turned back to Kiba and glared at him, eyes less than an inch away from his face. "Careful," the Uchiha said frostily. "Last time I saw two people that close, they kissed by accident."

Naruto flinched and let go of Kiba like he was made of fire, his face turning red. "What would you know about kissing anyone?" he accused. "You're Konoha's ice queen! You never care about anyone or anything!" Sasuke raised an eyebrow as Naruto turned away. "Leave me alone, bastard!" he said, but his voice was shaky as he ran off down the alley.

"What was that about?" Sasuke asked Kiba, but the boy shook his head. "No way, man. I've already gotten in enough trouble from Naruto today. Go ask him yourself."

Kiba walked off, and Sasuke left the alley soon after. Instead of going home, like he'd planned, he headed over to Naruto's place. Maybe he'd even be invited in, for once.

When Naruto opened the door, he winced and tried to slam it in Sasuke's face, but the Uchiha was faster.

"Damnit Sasuke, get your stupid ugly foot out of my doorway!" Naruto yelled.

"Not until you tell me what's going on," the Uchiha said, teeth gritted against the pain. You could say a lot of things about Naruto, but his raw strength wasn't something to be laughed at.

"Never!"

"Then I'll set fire to your door." Shoving his knee into the rapidly-shrinking space between the door and the frame, Sasuke started forming hand seals.

"No, wait!" Naruto yelped, and Sasuke paused. "Fuck," the blonde swore. "I suppose you'd better come in."

The door opened suddenly and Sasuke was left slightly off balance from the lack of pressure. Naruto must have noticed this because he grabbed his teammate's arm, dragged him inside, and slammed the door.

"What's your problem today?" the Uchiha said, one eyebrow raised.

"Nothing," Naruto hissed. Sasuke raised the other eyebrow at him in response. "Curse your talking eyebrows," the blonde muttered.

"I believe the correct word is 'expressive'."

"Whatever."

Silence reigned until Naruto couldn't take it anymore; Sasuke was looking at him with that look on his face, and eventually he caved. "Fine, you've tortured it out of me. I like you, okay? I like you like girls like you."

"Oh, that. Yeah, I know."

"What do you mean, 'I know'?!" Naruto spluttered.

"Well, it was kind of obvious," Sasuke said slowly. Sometimes you had to treat Naruto like a small child. "You have been acting a bit like Sakura lately." He thought about that statement for a second before amending it with, "except without the love hearts and the screeching."

Naruto was gaping at him, apparently speechless. Sasuke squashed his amusement. "Look, it's not like I care."

"I see."

"Oh, don't get all dramatic," Sasuke frowned. "I meant, it's no big deal. Lots of people like me; what's one more?"

"But I'm not like anyone else, bastard," the blonde proclaimed. "I'm going to be Hokage one day!"

Sasuke wisely ignored that. "Look Naruto, you're a boy. I'm a boy. Boys don't get together like that."

"They do in Jiraiya's books," Naruto sulked.

"Jiraiya's books...?"

"The ones Kakashi reads."

Sasuke sweat-dropped. "Those... Those are fictional," he muttered.

"Actually, Jiraiya says that most of them are based on events he really saw happen!" Naruto said brightly.

"That's not the point," the Uchiha said, exasperated. "Look, Naruto, I don't like you like that. That's the most important part, right? Besides, I thought you liked Sakura."

"She only sees you," Naruto scowled. "And she must have some kind of contagious disease, because now I only see you."

"That's sweet, really," Sasuke said sarcastically.

"I'm so glad you think so," the blonde said in the same tone of voice, "because I thought it sucked, but was obviously just in need of a second opinion."

"Hey, you're the one with the emotional problem," Sasuke scowled.

"And you're the one that's making me talk about it!" Naruto countered. There was a brief silence. "Damnit, this isn't getting us anywhere," the blonde muttered.

"Well, maybe you could just get over m-"

Sasuke was cut off by Naruto's lips pressing gently against his, and he froze. This was different from the kiss they'd shared by accident in class, in front of everyone; this was softer, and, if he was being honest, kind of nice. Who would have thought that the idiot had it in him?

After a few seconds Naruto pulled back a little, resting his forehead against that of his teammate. "I love you, Sasuke," he said simply.

"How nice for you," the Uchiha said, still muddled.

"Why are you such an asshole?" the blonde scowled.

"I don't know. Are you deaf?" Sasuke grinned.

"Eh?"

"I just finished saying that I didn't like you like that, so you thought a good thing to do would be to kiss me? Are you retarded?"

It was bloody cold outside; team seven had been on a reconnaissance mission in snow country for the last few weeks and were on their way home. Kakashi was on first watch and Sakura was already snoring her head off, but Saskue couldn't sleep. He wasn't exactly uncomfortable with the idea of sleeping with Naruto -- they'd done it on missions enough times in the past -- but on this cold night he was too distracted by the odd sensation of being half-boiling, half-freezing to fall asleep.

This is stupid, Sasuke thought irritably. I'm the one who uses fire jutsus, so why is the dobe giving off all the heat? It just isn't logical. Sasuke tried to press closer to Naruto without appearing to move, despite being shielded from Kakashi's view by the tent walls. It wouldn't have been unlike his teacher to make fun of him for his "out of character affection" towards the blonde, regardless of the reasons he had for it.

It'd been close to raining when they'd stopped at sunset, so Kakashi had decided tents were necessary in the cold weather and ordered Naruto to share with Sasuke. Surprisingly, the blonde had agreed with little to no protest, and the two of them had turned in for the night. That had been about two hours ago and Sasuke was still awake.

The Uchiha pulled his half of the blanket up over his chin irritably before shoving his other hand under his back, trying to use the trapped heat to warm his colder hand. He wanted very badly to kick his bed-partner in frustration, but managed to restrain himself. If Naruto hadn't been here with his stupid warmth then Sasuke would be asleep by now. Of course he'd also be a lot colder, but that wasn't the point.

Sasuke froze as the blonde he'd just been thinking about rolled towards him to slide an arm over his stomach. Naruto's fingertips had managed to slip under the edge of Sasuke's shirt; they were burning hot against his ice-cold skin. "Naruto?" Sasuke whispered, shocked. After a brief silence, he murmured, "are you awake?" The only answer he got was yet more heat as the blonde slung a leg over Sasuke's under the shared blanket and snuggled closer. The warmth spread quickly through his body and he was finally able to unclench his teeth; they'd been chattering until recently. The heat was almost disconcerting; he'd not been warm like this in weeks. The Uchiha tried not to get annoyed even as drowsiness set in; it was just like the dobe to take up more space than he was allowed.

Sasuke jumped as he felt the blonde's hand slide under the waistband of his shorts. "Naruto," he whispered urgently. "What are you doing?" Again he got no reply as his team-mate's hand slid in further, making the tight fabric rustle a little as it was pushed out of the way. Sasuke tried to raise his hands to stop him, but his left was trapped under him and his right was pinned between them as the blonde pressed himself hard against Sasuke's body. "N-Naruto? You're too close-" He stopped mid-sentence, gasping as his friend closed warm fingers around his length and squeezed gently.

"Naruto...!" Sasuke gasped as the blonde's hand started to move, sliding delicious heat along his most sensitive body part. No one but him had ever touched it before; he was beginning to agree with those people who said it was better with someone else.

This is the dobe we're talking about, Sasuke thought muzzily. But... I suppose I'd enjoy it no matter who it is. And he is asleep... With that thought he stopped struggling and let Naruto work until he started gently massaging the tip with his thumb. Sasuke could hear himself getting louder and tried once again to free his hands, but he was blinded by stars and resorted to pressing his lips hard against Naruto's, trying to muffle his moans so that Kakashi wouldn't hear. His team-mate continued to pump him gently as he came hard, opening his mouth to caress Sasuke's tongue with his own.

When he recovered, Naruto was thrusting against his thigh desperately, eyes still closed. "Sa... su... ke," he breathed, and the Uchiha knew that he'd get no sleep until he could placate his team-mate. With a long suffering sigh he licked along the shell of Naruto's ear; the blonde jumped and leaned back -- just a little, but it was enough. Sasuke pulled his trapped hand out from under him, propped himself up on his elbow and reached into Naruto's pants.

He exited the tent when he'd finished, trying to be as quiet as possible. Naruto had curled up again on Sasuke's side of the bed, his right hand dirty from the mess he'd caused. Sasuke didn't care much about that, but he refused to give in to sleep when his hand was still covered in Naruto's-

"Out to go to the bathroom?" was Kakashi's innocent-sounding question. Sasuke just scowled, grabbing his towel before turning to go somewhere more private. "There's a stream over that way. It'll be freezing, though." Sasuke turned his head to glare at him. "Ah, what a disrespectful way to treat your beloved teacher. I was only thinking that you'd like to wash your hands after."

Sasuke growled at him and stalked off.
